On the last Saturday of every month during suggested donation hours, ICP Community Days offer guided tours, family-friendly workshops, and special events, including tours in English, Mandarin, Spanish, and American Sign Language. Community Day is one of many new and ongoing initiatives that strive to strengthen accessibility to ICP's exhibitions, educational programs, and public events and embrace the diverse communities of the Lower East Side.

During ICP’s temporary closure, Community Day will continue to take place online through virtual programming for all ages including workshops, storytimes, curated reading lists, and digital educational resources. Visitors can also access audio guides of ICP’s current exhibitions in up to 10 languages through Gesso, and see more ways they can engage with ICP from anywhere

Visitors of all ages are invited to join us online during April Community Day for Jazz: Photography and Writing WorkshopIn this workshop, participants explore images from ICP’s collection depicting iconic musicians and figures from the jazz community, as well as jazz poetry to discuss the intersection between photography, jazz, and writing. Participants can then engage in a call-and-response activity where they respond to images and text in order to create a unique dialogue that explores the themes presented.

Registration is FREE but please RSVP in advance. Workshops will be held online through Zoom. A link with instructions to join the workshop will be emailed to you before the workshop. Learn how to download the latest version of Zoom to your computer or mobile device.
