Vantage Point 24: Celebrating 20 Years is an exhibition of photographs by students and alumni from ICP at THE POINT. This special anniversary show is a celebration of local voices picturing the beauty of everyday life and the hope for a brighter future.

Launched in 1997, ICP at THE POINT is a year-round collaboration that teaches photography, critical thinking, writing and public speaking with the goal of fostering self-esteem, community development, and social change. The program includes weekly after-school classes for preteens and teens that take place in a classroom/ studio, black and white darkroom and gallery space.

“I create photographs to show my world through pictures. Many people may not know what goes on in the Bronx, but through my pictures I can show how the world looks to a 12-year-old middle school student. My inspiration for taking pictures is to see life in a different way than just my eyes. When you look at something you just see an object, but with a camera around your neck, you can see how beautiful the object actually is.” –Dalylah Ebanks, student

How to View

During the day, the installment can be viewed on monitors inside the ICP Museum and during evening hours, images are literally “projected” onto the windows of the ICP Museum; they can be viewed from the sidewalk outside the Museum and are most visible after sunset. Learn more about Projected.
