Sarah Blesener

Sarah Blesener is a documentary photographer based in New York City. She is a graduate of the Visual Journalism and Documentary Practice program at the International Center of Photography in New York. She was the recipient of the Alexia Foundation grant for her 2017 work in the United States, and was also a 2017 fellow with Catchlight, working with Reveal from The Center for Investigative Reporting. In 2018, she was a recipient of the Eugene Smith Fellowship. In 2019, her personal project, Beckon Us From Home, received a first place prize in the Long-Term Project category of World Press Photo. Currently, she is working in New York on stories surrounding gendered violence and mental health, intentionally bringing a trauma informed approach to her journalism and visual process.
