Paola Chapdelaine
Paola is a French photojournalist and documentary photographer based in New York, and a member of Women Photograph & NPPA. With a background in Political Science and Urban Development, she transitioned to photojournalism in 2020. Paola received the Director’s Fellowship from the Documentary Practice & Visual Journalism program at ICP, which she graduated from in 2023. Her work focuses mostly on culture and politics. It aims to challenge entrenched biases, from documenting youth in the digital age (Silent Radar) to community violence intervention (Tough Love), or the American political divide. She has also worked on climate stories such as the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. She has collaborated with The New York Times, The Washington Post, New York Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The New Republic, NBC, Politico, The Guardian, and more.
