Karen Dias

Karen Dias is a documentary photographer and interdisciplinary artist based in New York City. Her journalistic work focuses on stories about women's rights, state violence and environmental issues. Karen's work has been published in The Guardian, Bloomberg News, The Washington Post, BBC, National Geographic, Le Monde, Conde Nast Traveler, Courrier International, and Roads & Kingdoms among others. She has been an International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) grantee and her work has been exhibited at Tisseurs d'Images Festival in France, Chennai Photo Biennale and Serendipity Arts Festival in India and at Gulf Photo Plus in Dubai. Besides photography, Karen's work also spans across lens-based media, sculpture and installation. She received her Bachelor's in Mass Media with a major in journalism from St. Xavier's University in Mumbai and has an MFA in Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design in New York.
