Joanne Dugan
Joanne Dugan is a 2024 Guggenheim Fellow in Photography and an interdisciplinary artist, photographer and author who explores the intersections between photography, painting, sculpture and mindfulness. Her work, made with traditional analog photographic materials, was recently acquired by the J. Paul Getty Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for their permanent collections and has been exhibited in the US, UK, Europe and Asia. Publications include the New York Times T Magazine, The Harvard Review, Unseen and Photograph magazines, among others. As an author she has published seven books combining image and text and her work is in the library collections of the J. Getty Museum, LACMA, ICP and the George Eastman House. She lives and works in New York City and has taught and lectured around the world about the integration of photography, visual art and mindfulness practices.
