JoAnne Seador
JoAnne Seador is a photographer and educator and received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts and MA from NYU/ICP. She teaches at ICP, The School of Visual Arts, and Nassau Community College. She is a member of Soho Photo Gallery. She was co-director of Pulse Art Gallery in New York City and was a Photo Editor at Magnum Photos.
Rooted in a lifelong attentiveness to fleeting moments, her work has gradually shifted from a documentary sensibility toward a more expressive and atmospheric language. Color plays a central role in her work, functioning as an emotional register through which memory, mood, and perception unfold. Her images linger between observation and introspection, inviting viewers into spaces shaped as much by feeling as by sight.
