Ej Camp
Ej Camp is renown for her celebrity portraits. Her portrait career transitioned from fashion photography in the 1980’s with a Rolling Stone cover of Christie Brinkley. EJ’s professional portfolio includes magazine covers, movie posters and advertising campaigns. As a top photographer in Hollywood, EJ’s clients include Paramount Pictures, New Line Cinema, 20th Century Fox, and Sony Pictures. Her numerous movie posters include Top Gun, Forrest Gump, Austin Powers, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Advertising clients include American Express, Aeropostale, ABC Family/Disney, CBS, Dannon, Dr. Pepper, General Electric, E Entertainment, IBM, Lifetime, Showtime and VH-1.
EJ graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology and moved to New York City as a photo assistant to Albert Watson and Bruce Weber. She opened her own studio in the original Bloomingdale’s building in New York City’s Flatiron district in the mid-1980s, on the 4th floor, along with fellow photographer Annie Liebovitz. After running her studio in New York for 20 years, EJ relocated to the West Coast to be closer to the film industry.
EJ is again based in New York. She complements her career as a portrait photographer with work in fine art photography. Particularly fascinated by the interplay of water and light, her personal work includes seascapes, beach and water studies, and is collected internationally. EJ Camp was born in San Francisco and lives in New York City and Orient, New York.
