Wolfgang Volz is the recipient of the 1996 Applied/Fashion/Advertising award

Wolfgang Volz (b. 1948, Tuttlingen, Germany) is a German photographer best known for his long-standing collaboration with the environmental artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude. By 1996, Volz had established himself as one of the leading figures in applied and documentary photography, distinguished by his ability to document large-scale artistic interventions, landscapes, architecture, and scientific subjects with exceptional technical precision. His photographs not only recorded ephemeral works of art but also became an integral part of their historical preservation and public reception.
