2000 Infinity Award: Photojournalism

James Nachtwey is the recipient of the 2000, 1993, and 1989 Photojournalism awards.

 

James Nachtwey is an American photojournalist known for his images of war. He began his career in New Mexico, before moving to New York in 1980 to work for magazines. He has covered conflicts in Northern Ireland, Rwanda, the West Bank and Gaza, Nicaragua, and Sri Lanka, among others. He has worked for Time since 1984 and was a member of Magnum from 1986 till 2001, when he co-founded VII.
