Eutropio Rodríguez
Fascinated from a very young age by his father's Kodak Retinette, Eutropio Rodríguez graduated in Documentary Photography from the International Center of Photography. In addition, he earned a degree in Art History with a MA in Contemporary Art from the University of Santiago de Compostela. Eutropio is a photographer, editor, and educator. Notably, his photographic practice moves between auteur documentary work and editorial portraiture.
As an editor at Acentral Folque, he has directed book series exploring the Galicia and northern Portugal cultural heritage, delving into the intersections among music, tradition, and anthropology. Furthermore, his most recent publications include Tocadoras de Val do Dubra (Acentral Folque) and VIVA! os Xenerais da Ulla, published under his own imprint, The Fraga Family Edicións. Moreover, his images and photo essays have also appeared in international outlets such as The New York Times and Rolling Stone Magazine.
Those who know him well say that, for Eutropio, the discipline of framing and the pursuit of form are, above all, the purest expression of his commitment to emotion within the photographic act.
