Join us for the opening reception of CRYPSIS, a survey show of work by recent graduates of ICP’s Advanced Track Program.

As much as photographs reveal, they are also mysterious objects of concealment derived from the decisions of their maker, provoking a private response that functions more as a path toward interpretation than a vessel of the absolute. The photographs in this exhibition transcend the individual parts that make them whole. They invade the vulnerability of our delicate psychology. What waits to be discovered in them reveals the fragility of our survival within modern times.

ICP’s Advanced Track Program unites students with disparate histories and relationships with the medium of photography and builds a balance of creativity and artistic production between them. This work represents one year of exploration into the depths of these photographer’s insights.

This exhibition is curated by Ben Gest, associate chair of part-time programs, and Jean Marie Casbarian, faculty.
