Five artists share stories of their experiences as members of marginalized communities through short films. Museum admission applies.

Workshop

MARCH 14 | 6–9 PM | GALLERY
Emily Wang and Alice Sparkly Kat join For Freedoms in hosting a Chinatown Community Celebration and guide participants in how to make various traditional Chinese knots, which symbolize both struggle and unity, to transform stories into amulets of good luck. Free during the ICP Museum’s pay-what-you-wish hours.

It is a Miracle We Are Standing Here presents a collection of images sourced from the For Freedoms community that respond to the prompt “freedom from fear.” Museum admission applies, except during pay-what-you-wish hours on Thursdays from 6 to 9 PM. Opening reception Thursday, March 21 from 6 to 9 PM.

For Freedoms team member Wyatt Gallery hosts a workshop titled How to Make a Difference With Your Photography geared toward young imagemakers. 12 participants max, ages 15 and older welcome. RSVP to emma@forfreedoms.org. Free.

In the interactive installation Pack Our Bags, Elisa Hamilton invites the public to help ‘The Traveler’ pack a suitcase filled with the values that will lay the groundwork for our future world. Museum admission applies, except during pay-what-you-wish hours on Thursdays from 6 to 9 PM.

For Freedoms hosts To Not Be Reduced, a night of dance, spoken word, comedy, and more for women and femmes to use as a space for healing. Free.
