Alessandro Ghirelli is an Italian photographer, videographer and post producer based in Milan. After receiving his MFA in Cinema, Television and Multi-Media Production he worked in TV and Film industry as a Screenwriter, Video Editor and Assistant Director. When his interests shifted to still photography he attended a post-graduate program in Digital Photojournalism at Contrasto Agency in Milan. Later he received a One Year Certificate in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism from the International Centre of Photography in New York, where he was awarded the George and Joyce Moss Scholarship in 2012. Alessandro works as a teacher, and assists several international photographers on location in the US, Great Britain, China and Africa. He has managed the post-processing and printing for numerous photographers. For Jean Pierre and Eliane Laffont he scanned and restored a large film archive that became part of the book “Photographer’s Paradise: Turbulent America 1960-1990”, winner of a Lucie Award in 2014. As a photographer he’s been exhibited in Europe, US, and China. His work appeared on the main Italian newspapers and it has been published on German and French Press. He now works as coordinator and teacher for a BA Program in Filmmaking in Milan. He is a faculty member at ICP, for the OYC Program and the Intensive Summer Masterclass held with Camera Torino.
