Dreaming in Pictures

The Photography of Lewis Carroll
An exhibition of vintage albumen prints from the 1850s through the 1870s makes a new argument for the author's importance as a photographer. The images focus on people, including enigmatic portraits of children, and tableaux photographs, reinforcing Carroll's conception of the photograph as private theater. Curated by Doug Nickel.
