Community Exhibition Tour—Gillian Laub: Family Matters and Diana Markosian: Santa Barbara, 10 AM–11 AM

Learn more about the exhibitions through conversations led by ICP’s Managing Director of Programs, David Campany, and Sara Ickow, Senior Manager, Exhibition and Collections. Film Cameras from the ICP Collection, 11 AM–2 PM
Meeting location: ICP lobby near Essex Street entrance
Join ICP faculty member Kristin Holcomb from 11 AM–2 PM to learn about analog photography! View film cameras from ICP’s school collection, and discover the analog photographic processes that produced the series of oversized photos that will be printed and on display in the museum lobby. ICP’s Continuing Education program is excited to welcome students back to our darkrooms for the fall term and will be offering Photo I and Photo II in Black and White.

 

Open Arts LES Pay by Donation Admission, 11 AM–1 PM
Meeting location: ICP lobby by the 84 Ludlow Street entrance
As part of Open Arts LES the International Center of Photography will be extending our reduced “pay by donation” admission option that is popular on Thursday evenings to Saturday morning, October 2nd from 11 AM–1 PM. Advanced donation tickets can be purchased online at icp.org or at the museum that Saturday morning. 

 

LES Local Business Street Photography Scavenger Hunt Photo Walk, 1–2 PM
Meeting location: ICP lobby at the 84 Ludlow entrance
Join photographer, community activist, and Lower East Side native, Destiny Mata, for an image-making walking tour of the Lower East Side’s Alphabet City! In this hands-on workshop participants of all ages will learn about how to elevate their photography skills using the image-making device most accessible to them.

Bring your SLR, DSLR camera, your smartphone, or dust off those Polaroids and Holgas! Walkthrough LES with Destiny Mata and visit some of the neighborhood’s most loved businesses, all while gaining new street photography skills!
