Please join us for a conversation between Zackary Drucker and Mariette Pathy Allen, moderated by Allen Frame. Drucker and Pathy Allen will discuss their new work, including Drucker's participation as an actor and associate producer on the Emmy-winning seriesTransparent and Pathy Allen's recently published book TransCuba (Daylight, 2014), which will be available for sale on the 23rd.
 
BIOS: 
Mariette Pathy Allen is a New York City based photographer. Although she has photographed a range of subjects, her work on gender variation has been the most consistent. Mariette is the author/photographer of Transformations: Crossdressers and Those Who Love Them, E.P. Dutton, 1990, The Gender Frontier, Kehrer, 2004, and TransCuba, Daylight, 2014. Mariette has worked on five documentary films. Her work is exhibited internationally, and is in many permanent collections in museums. Currently, she has a solo exhibition in Havana that will travel throughout Cuba. Mariette's life's work is being archived at Duke University's Rubenstein Library and the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture.

Infusing elements of photography, video, text and performance, Zackary Drucker makes work that is rooted in cultivating and investigating under-recognized aspects of transgender history, locating herself in the history, and communicating a contemporary experience of gender and sexuality. Drucker earned an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts in 2007 and a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2005. She has performed and exhibited her work internationally in numerous museums, galleries, and film festivals including Bonnefantenmuseum, Maastricht, NL; Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto; the 2014 Whitney Museum of American Art Biennial; 54th Venice Biennale; Swiss Off-Site Pavilion; Curtat Tunnel, Lausanne, Switzerland; L.U.C.C.A. Museum of Contemporary Art, Lucca, IT; Les Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin/Madrid; Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, CA; MOMA PS1; Made in L.A., Los Angeles Biennial, Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, CA 2012); and Outfest Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival (Platinum Showcase; awarded Grand Jury Prize for Outstanding Experimental Film), REDCAT, Los Angeles, CA. Drucker lives and works in Los Angeles and is represented by Luis De Jesus Los Angeles. She is currently an associate producer and actor on the critically acclaimed Amazon Prime series Transparent.

Allen Frame is represented by Gitterman Gallery in New York where he has had solo exhibitions in 2005, 2009, and 2013. His 2013 exhibition Dialogue with Bolaño was presented at the Museum of the Sonora in Hermosillo, Mexico, in 2014. Detour, a compilation of his photographs over a decade, was published by Kehrer Verlag Heidelberg in 2001. He currently serves on the Board of the Camera Club of New York and he teaches photography at Pratt Institute, the School of Visual Arts, and the International Center of Photography.
