Join us for the opening of 2019 ICP-Bard MFA candidate Lauren Taubenfeld’s solo exhibition, Mental Images, at the ICP-Bard MFA Studios in Long Island City.

In Mental Images, Taubenfeld extracts her own traumas and experiences. She uses photography as a mapping tool to quite literally stitch fragments of repressed memories back together to make sense of her past. Using said memories, she aims to overcome such trauma.

Lauren Taubenfeld (b. 1991) is a fine art photographer who focuses on documenting the human condition and then constructing true and fictional stories using a camera. Taubenfeld is also interested in photographing her family and documenting intimate relationships. She earned her bachelor's degree in photography from Parsons the New School for Design, and she is currently working towards her MFA at the International Center for Photography–Bard College. Taubenfeld is based in New York City.
