Make connections during this Creative Mixer hosted by ICP and Black Women Photographers Creative Mixer, on the inaugural free Third Thursday Late Night ICP!
On this special evening, ICP invites members of the international creative community—photographers, artists, arts administrators, photo editors, curators, writers, and beyond—to convene at ICP to connect with one another, explore fall exhibitions, and meet industry leaders through activities in ICP's space.
Remarks from industry leaders at Getty Images, Reuters, Nikon Inc, Photoville, and Women Street Photographers will take place at 7 PM.
Through this event and others at ICP on Third Thursdays, we aim to provide a platform to amplify the voices of groups doing key work in championing artists today and to become a place where artists can connect and support one another.
About Black Women Photographers
Founded by Polly Irungu, and launched in July of 2020, Black Women Photographers (BWP) is a global community, directory, and hub of over 1,500 Black women and non-binary identifying photographers, spanning over 60 countries and 30+ U.S. states.
Black Women Photographers is a home for Black women to receive proper recognition, and most importantly, get hired. Dedicated to providing a resource for the industry’s gatekeepers, BWP supports its members through promoting their work in an active database distributed to photo editors, directors, curators, and art buyers. The collective also offers an annual $50K grant fund, free educational resources such as regular programing of photo walks, webinars, workshops, trainings, and portfolio reviews.
BWP is committed to providing an abundance of professional and personal growth for Black creatives worldwide through community, conversation, workshops, educational resources, virtual and in-person events, and an active directory of photographers available for hire.
Third Thursdays at ICP
On these special evenings, the third Thursday of each month from 6–9 PM, we welcome our community into the museum for no cost. Free Third Thursdays further ICP's dedication to expanding access to see important exhibitions and experience a robust range of programming. We look forward to welcoming you to our space to connect with ICP's community and learn more about the history and future of imagemaking.
Third Thursdays are made possible thanks to an expanded partnership with MPB, the largest online platform to buy, sell and trade used photo and video gear.
