Larry Wiese's commitment to photography spans nearly four decades. Prior to 1994 he was known for his traditional West Coast landscapes. But then, experiencing a revelation about his working method and subject matter in 1996, he reinvented his entire approach to photography with a decidely different creative vision. He now employs more spontaneity in his work, and an increasing fascination with light and shadow as his 'subject." His dark and diffused palette create moods and feelings that he found lacking in his earlier work.
