"Water Main Burst Uproots Madison Ave. New York-A portion of Madison Ave., between 77th and 78th Sts. was uprooted today, when a water main burst and sent a 50-foot geyser spouting through the pavement. Here is a view of the street showing the hole in the pavement and water flooding the area. The pressure behind the break quickly filled Madison Ave. curb-deep with water."
