Blanche Reid, alias Blanche Simms, was found guilty of stabbing Frederick J. Supanic in Harlem. Supanic had been drinking and twenty-nine-year-old Simms claimed that the thirty-year-old firefighter had pulled a knife on her first. Simms was sentenced to ten to twenty years for the murder.
