Held in San Francisco from February 20 to December 4, 1915, the Panama-Pacific International Exposition celebrated the completed construction of the Panama Canal. The world's fair also offered the opportunity for the city to show off its ambitious rebuilding campaign; the 1905 earthquake and fire destryoed almost eighty per cent of the city.
