M.Wesley Ham is a Brooklyn based photographer originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He received a Masters of Art in Photography and Media Art from New York University and The International Center of Photography in 2006. Ham’s personal work deals with the ideas surrounding family, legacy, the traditions of the South, and the effect of the cultural and physical landscape on people. His work is heavily influenced by his experiences growing up in southern Louisiana and consistently returns there to create images. In addition to being an artist, a large part of Ham’s interests lie in the education of young people through the power of Photography and Media.
