Jonathan Nelson

A director and cinematographer who began his career under the tutelage of Albert Maysles, Jonathan brings his extensive experience in the documentary format into all facets of visual storytelling—narrative, fashion, and commercial. Creating and lighting for a wide array of content, Jonathan recently premiered an original documentary web series—I LIVED—at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival. Jonathan's DP credits include a short film for Lebron James’ UNINTERRUPTED about the first black hockey player to skate for the US Olympic Team, Trollville--a comedy series featuring Henry Zebrowski, Deirdre Lovejoy, and Matt Servitto, and numerous commercials for high profile fashion clients like Covergirl, Vince, and Tommy Hilfiger.Jonathan is currently in post-production for a documentary about The Brooklyn Bombshells, a women's roller derby team in Brooklyn, NY.
