Alina Patrick
Alina Fresquez Patrick is an interdisciplinary artist working in photography, sculpture, and poetry based out of Brooklyn with family roots in New Mexico. Upon graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Photography & Imaging Alina has been awarded a number of residencies across the United States including at the Penumbra Foundation, Penland School of Craft, Eureka! House, and Little X Little. Her first book of photography and poetry “How to grow una flor en el desierto,” published by the Penumbra Foundation in 2023, is available at Printed Matter NYC, the Penumbra Foundation, and is in the permanent library collection of the International Center of Photography. Her second photo-poetry book “Ordinary Devotions,” is will be released in 2025. In addition to teaching photography, she is a wheel-throwing and sculpture instructor at a ceramics studio in Brooklyn.
