1991 Infinity Award: Photojournalism — Antonin Kratochvil

Antonin Kratochvil is the recipient of the 1991 Photojournalism award.

Antonín Kratochvíl is a Czech-born American photojournalist and documentary photographer whose work has become synonymous with uncompromising visual reporting on war, political upheaval, humanitarian crises, and marginalized communities. Widely regarded as one of the most influential conflict photographers of the late twentieth century, Kratochvíl is known for his emotionally charged black-and-white imagery, dramatic use of light, and deeply personal approach to documentary photography. His photographs combine journalistic immediacy with artistic expression, reflecting both the brutality of conflict and the resilience of the human spirit.
