Maura McCreight

Maura McCreight completed her PhD in Art History at the CUNY Graduate Center, where her dissertation argued that the “colonial media enterprise” functioned as a mechanism driving both the FLN and the French Army to shape and perpetuate gendered symbolic categories during the Algerian War for Independence (1954–62). She is the Partnerships & Programs Manager in Open Education at the International Center of Photography (ICP). Before joining ICP, she was an Adjunct Assistant Professor and Adjunct Lecturer in Art History at several CUNY campuses and a fellow in Interpretation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
