Join us for a unique portrait session by ICP staff and faculty member Larson Harley. Each session is $40. Present an ICP ID to receive a 20% discount.

10 available slots for presenters, walk-ins only. Additional guests are welcome to participate as audience members. Participants are welcome to bring either physical or digital work for critique. Led by ICP faculty member Ben Sklar.

Join us for the next installment of the ICP PhotoSLAM series. During this fast-paced, open mic event, photographers, the ICP community, and audience members are invited to compete in a live story telling competition, driven by photographs. The theme for this PhotoSLAM is Summer in NYC and is hosted by Idris Talib Solomon. Visit the event page for more information on how to compete as a storyteller or in the audience judging panel.

K–12 Teacher Meet-up

Camera-less photography activities that can be adapted for a variety of ages and subject areas, from ELA and social studies to the arts and sciences.
K–12 teachers of all subject areas are invited to join us for a fun evening of demonstrations and discussion of camera-less photographic techniques—including cyanotypes, lumen prints, and more—to bring into the classroom. These techniques can be used with a variety of age groups and subject areas, from ELA and social studies to the arts and sciences. No prior experience teaching photography is needed.

About the Hosts
Ben Sklar is a photographer from Austin, Texas. His work explores the complexity of life and human connection with a unique sense of curiosity, wonderment and discovery in the lyrical documentary tradition. His works are included in the Harry Ransom Center for American History, the Ogden Museum, and the Fotohof Museum and he has been recognized by the SPJ, PDN and the Nieman Foundation among others. He is a graduate of the Hartford Art School Masters of Fine Art Photography program.
Idris Talib Solomon is a Brooklyn native and multimedia storyteller who uses imagery to highlight the depth, culture, and everyday beauty within Black communities. His work centers on authentic storytelling that builds meaningful human connection. With a background spanning advertising, marketing, photography, and podcasting, Idris brings a multidisciplinary approach to creative problem-solving and narrative development. He is also the creator and host of The Black Shutter Podcast, a platform dedicated to amplifying the voices and contributions of Black photographers.
Larson Harley is a Brooklyn-based fine art photographer, teacher, and adventurer. He is a photo instructor for children and adult classes in the studio and on location. He has toured the U.S. with the Canon Photography in the Parks program, and traveled internationally with National Geographic Student Expeditions. Larson can be found photographing for commercial clients, managing the Photo Labs for International Center of Photography, or working on his personal series including wet plate portraiture.
Jutharat 'Poupay' Pinyodoonyachet is a photographer based in New York City. Originally from Bangkok, Thailand, and with a keen passion for street photography, Poupay traveled to New York to study at the prestigious International Center of Photography. Her work has developed into a distinctive portfolio featuring subjects that range from chance encounters to bizarre slices of city life with direct flash and vivid color, especially the time she's spent in NYC since relocating officially in 2019. Her approach is entirely direct while maintaining a fly-on-the-wall mindset, which leads to her archive of unexpected moments captured in time.
