Suzanne Opton

Suzanne Opton is interested in photography that lives on the edge of the documentary and the conceptual. Her Soldier Billboard Project presented portraits of American soldiers on billboards and in subway stations in eight cities, 2008–2010. The book Soldier / Many Wars was published in 2011. Opton's work is in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Library of Congress, and the Nelson-Atkins, among others. She is the recipient of a 2009 Guggenheim Fellowship.
