Jakob Ganslmeier
Jakob Ganslmeier is a PhD candidate at Aalto University in Finland, researching visual dogwhistles and strategies to improve visual literacy on social media. Together with Ana Zibelnik, he forms the artist duo Ganslmeier & Zibelnik. Their works, including Fault Line (2023, ongoing), Bereitschaft (2024), and Redpilled (2023) explore youth identity formation and delve into societal issues such as climate anxiety, online trends, and the influence of extreme ideologies on young people. They are especially interested in dismantling the visual representation of radical ideologies and how visual arts can counteract radical political narratives and increase sensitivity to social issues with conflicting perspectives. Their works were exhibited at FOAM Museum Amsterdam, Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCAK) Kraków, and Deichtorhallen, House of Photography, Hamburg.
