Using image, sound, and text, Diana Matar investigates issues of displacement, memory, development, and political violence. A graduate of the Royal College of Art London, Matar is the recipient of the Deutsche Bank Award for Fine Art, the International Fund for Documentary Photography, two Arts Council Individual Artist Grants, and has been nominated for Prix Pictet award. Her work is held in numerous public and private collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, The Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Photography Chicago. Current and upcoming shows include Tate Modern, London, Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris, and Museum Folkswang Essen. Her monograph, Evidence, was released by Schilt Publishing in November 2014.
