Christine Elfman

Christine Elfman makes photographs about fixing and fading, stillness and change, visibility and the unknown. Her work has been shown in solo exhibitions at the Penumbra Foundation, New York; Tilt Institute for the Contemporary Image, Philadelphia; University of the Arts, Philadelphia; and Gallery Wendi Norris, San Francisco. She has been awarded a Light Work Grant in Photography, and residencies at Penumbra Foundation and Saltonstall Foundation. Her work has appeared in Photograph Magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, Der Greif, and Loupe Magazine. She received her MFA from California College of the Arts and BFA from Cornell University. Elfman has taught photography at Bowdoin College, Cornell University, and San Francisco Art Institute, with a longstanding focus on experimental processes. She is represented by Euqinom Gallery in San Francisco.
