Branden Wallace

I am the Registrar and Collections Manager for the International Center of Photography. I have worked in museum collection management for over fifteen years. My collection management work exploring combining art collections and archives as tools of risk management being the access to uncovering mythology, restoring erased history and fostering community building.  

I previously lectured at NYU, Columbia, Princeton, Hunter, FIT, and University of Sydney. I was the Registrar and Collection Manager at Leslie-Loman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Arts for over a decade. There I have also had opportunities to curated collection-based exhibition of Queer artwork. Of those exhibitions, I co-curated Expanded Visions: Fifty Years of Collecting. Proudly, producing the exhibitions corresponding catalog Queer Holdings: A survey of the Leslie-Loham Museum, edited by Noam Parness. I worked as the Digital Assets Manager at The Museum of Jewish Heritage. I have worked with countless researchers through all the collections I have been involved with.  

I am a fine artist with a studio practice of over 20 years in New York. My artwork has been included in several exhibitions. My first solo show was in 2010 at the Center. Over the past ten years I have worked closely with choreographer Christopher Unpezverde Nuñéz as scenic designer for his company. We have performed at several location including St. Marc Dancespace Project, Jacob’s Pillow, San Francisco Cultura y Arte Nativa de las Americas. This April 17, 2026 will be the New York premier of our collaboration with Axis Dance company at Lincoln Center. I am very happy to be here today.
