Mary Ellen Mark

American Odyssey
One of the last exhibitions in ICP's uptown building, this major retrospective is the first exhibit to focus exclusively on Mary Ellen Mark's extensive American work. Mary Ellen Mark: An American Odyssey is comprised of many marvelous, previously unpublished images, as well as powerful photographs from several of her well-known projects. These selections form an unusually arresting view of America, from its innocuous backyard activities to the harshness of its street life and the quirkiness of its subcultures. Curated by Christopher Phillips.
