Thursday Nights: Weegee-Inspired Film Noir Series

June 21, 2012 – August 2, 2012 (6:00PM – 6:00PM ET)
Free Event

This summer, ICP will screen Film Noir genre movies in the spirit of Weegee's crime photography. Weegee boldly illuminated the seamy underside of the nighttime city while capturing the expressions of his anguished subjects. Film Noir takes cues from the hard-boiled pulp literature of the Great Depression, and the stark lighting of German Expressionist films. These movies create a fictional world not all that different from the reality that Weegee inhabited and documented.
