This course provides you with invaluable insight into employing narrative structures to enrich your stories, resulting in more intricate projects that surpass the boundaries of conventional photography publications and provoke new ideas while fostering engaging discussions. Unearth your unique and intuitive approach, as you learn to infuse a sense of playfulness into your artistic practice. It’s just like unraveling a captivating puzzle! This course is meets online on Sundays from 10 AM- 1 PM ET, November 3-December 8.

Rehan Miskci on Lost & Found: Archival Practices in Photography
This course begins with the question: Are all photographs documents? We then delve into how photographic archives are recontextualized in contemporary art. Through the study of key artists, participants gain perspective on the multiple ways that photographic archives can shapeshift as documents. Examples include significant photographic sources from the SWANA region, and we focus on how archives can eventually be converted into decolonial tools. With the help of in-class assignments, exercises and discussions participants are invited to treat the archive as a space of conflict. This class meets at ICP from November 23-24, 10 AM – 5 PM ET.
