The Huawei NEXT-IMAGE Awards received more than 150,000 submissions from 90 countries all over the world.

As part of ICP’s ongoing partnership with Huawei, members of our immediate community participated on the jury of the 2017 Huawei NEXT-IMAGE Awards.

The 2017 Awards were broken down into seven categories:

The NEXT-IMAGE Awards Grand Prize Winner will receive $20,000. Each category winner will win a Huawei MateBook X and Huawei Mate 10.

From the photographer:

“I took this picture in my mother’s house in Santiago, Chile, on a late spring day. My 6-year-old daughter, Pascuala, had spent the afternoon in the pool, and we were ready to leave. Her hair was wet and dripping over her dress, so I wrapped it in a braided ponytail. I thought the light was beautiful with sunset approaching, and her simple, red and yellow dress played well with the color of the walls and the art. I think there’s something mysterious about the way she is standing in the room, reflecting after looking at the woman in the painting. I wonder what she was thinking about. ”
