The First Snapshots

At Home and Abroad

The exhibition presents pioneering Kodak snapshots from the 1880 and 1890s. Both visually inventive and playful, these circular-format images portray American families in both domestic settings and on world travels. Curated by Christopher Phillips and George Eastman House.

George Eastman, Paul Nadar, Place de l'Opera, Paris, 1890. Collection George Eastman House, Rochester.
