Explore the Bowery with your smartphone! This workshop will introduce participants to map-based interactive storytelling using smartphones, Instagram, and geo-location. The afternoon will begin with a discussion of contemporary interactive media and the techniques and tools used at the intersection of story and design. Afterwards, participants will venture into the Bowery neighborhood surrounding the ICP Museum, returning with content for a collaboratively produced interactive map.

Instructor Bio

ICP School faculty member Zohar Kfir is a New York–based media artist working with experimental video, interactive art, and VR. Her artistic practice employs non-linear narratives and traditional cinematic techniques and features expanded interactivity. Kfir has shown her work widely in galleries, festivals, and conferences and has been reviewed in major publications.
