Join Norma I. Quintana for a signing of her book Circus: A Traveling Life.

Norma I. Quintana (born 1954) is an American photographer and educator working in the tradition of social documentary, shooting exclusively in black and white and using only available light. Her first monograph, Circus: A Traveling Life represents a decade-long collaboration with the families of circus artists and performers of an American, traveling one-ring circus. She has captured, in rich detail, candid moments behind the curtain as they proudly perfect their craft. The book, designed by Yolanda Cuomo of New York and published by Damiani Editore of Italy, features nearly a 100 full-page, luminous black-and-white portraits, reproduced in duotones by master printer, Robert Hennessey. The book also features an introduction by Mona Simpson and personal essay from the author on her experience photographing the circus.
