Morrie Camhi

Born in New York City in 1928, Morrie Camhi worked his way through college as a lab technician and upon graduation established his own business in commercial photography in Petaluma, California. In 1972 he sold the business and began teaching photography at City College of San Francisco. He was a prolific photographer who had a great interest in the rich subject matter found in the human condition. In the Jews of Greece he photographed the Jews in Thessaloniki who had escaped the Holocaust. Morrie Camhi died in 1999 at the age of 71.
