Summary: Miao Xiaochun (born 1964) is known for his large-format panoramic photographs, digital montages of the modern Chinese city and traditional buildings. In his recent works, Miao is occupied with image icons of Western art history, which he in turn converts to digital - as on the book cover which is an adaptation of the fountain of youth by Lucas Cranach. With texts by Siegfried Zielinski, professor of media theory at the University of Arts Berlin, Gregor Jansen, director of the ZKM Museum for Contemporary Art, Karlsruhe, Wu Hung, an art historian and curator of numerous exhibitions of contemporary of Chinese art, teaches at the University of Chicago.
