Christmas in Korea: Wrecked vehicles block the road. Calmly the troops stripped them of their equipment, shoved them aside and grenaded them.

Some of the Marines on the march down the alley, plodding along with sleeping bags wrapped around them in an attempt to get a little warmer - futile. Everyone walked who wasn't wounded or frozen-footed.

Near the end of the road soldiers look but do not stop as they pass the bodies of men killed in the last Chinese ambush. These dead were picked up later.
