ICP Plans for the Future with Addition of Two Globally Recognized Talents
The International Center of Photography (ICP) is happy to announce two significant additions to the institution’s leadership team. François Hebél has been named ICP’s Director at Large, and David Campany will rejoin ICP as Creative Director. Both are globally recognized leaders in the field of photography who bring decades of experience to their mission of helping to shape the future of the ICP.
"I am really looking forward to François and David joining the incredibly passionate and talented team at ICP. We look forward to their operational expertise to help ICP execute our plans, their broader international perspective which mirrors how photographers and the industry operate in the current day, and extensive knowledge of artists and institutions that drive photography forward," said ICP CEO Bob Jeffrey.
David Campany is rejoining ICP as Creative Director. David previously served as ICP’s Managing Director of Programs, where he made significant contributions through acclaimed projects like #ICPConcerned, ICP Talks, and William Klein YES. An ICP Infinity Award winner for Writing, David brings a deep blend of creative and academic expertise. He has collaborated with institutions like Tate, MoMA, and the Centre Pompidou. His insight into contemporary visual culture and extensive global connections will play a vital role at ICP. David will be based out of ICP's offices in New York City, at 84 Ludlow Street.
François Hébel joins ICP as Director at Large, partnering with ICP CEO Bob Jeffrey and the senior leadership team to shape a comprehensive, ambitious vision for the next 50 years of ICP. A highly respected figure in photography, François has managed over a thousand exhibitions and projects worldwide and has held leadership roles at renowned institutions, including Magnum Photos, the Rencontres d’Arles Festival, and the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson.
David and François will provide ICP with their extensive operational expertise, an international perspective on connecting the photography community, and a deep understanding of both the history and future of the medium. “ICP is an institution that is recognized around the world,” François stated, “Photographers understand how important ICP's education programs, exhibitions, and community are to the industry. I’m excited to help the organization flourish.”
Together, these appointments mark the beginning of a new chapter for ICP, one that promises to further strengthen its position as a leader in the global photography community as ICP looks towards its next 50 years.
