ICP Expands To New Sites
We bid farewell to our Midtown Museum on January 11, 2015. As The New York Times reported, our dynamic new downtown Museum is set to open early 2016. The new space will be a forum for groundbreaking work and a place for photographers and the public to create, explore, and share ideas.
The International Center of Photography is a comprehensive institution dedicated to all facets of imagemaking. The exciting new downtown Museum is just one part of our plans to expand to new sites in and around Manhattan.
- Our Museum and Store are moving downtown, to an exciting new space on the Bowery. ICP Bowery will open early 2016.
- Our Collections are now housed in a 15,000-square foot facility within Mana Contemporary in Jersey City, New Jersey. The International Center of Photography at Mana is open by appointment only. To make an appointment, please contact managallery@icp.org.
- Our School and Library remain in their current location: ICP Midtown.
This is an extraordinary moment in the history of photography and imagemaking, as well as in the history of the International Center of Photography. Our founder, Cornell Capa, described photography as "the most vital, effective and universal means of communication of facts and ideas." The power of images to cross barriers of language, geography, and culture is greater today than ever before—and ICP is evolving to meet all the opportunities this presents. Check back for regular updates on our future as details are finalized.
