Teaching Assistants are volunteers who form a vital part of ICP by supporting its classes and courses on photographer and visual storytelling. 

How to Apply to be a Volunteer Teaching Assistant

Please contact the TA Program Coordinator at [email protected] if you’re interested in learning more about becoming a TA at ICP. Teaching Assistants placed in photography courses must be familiar with the material being covered, such as mixing the chemistry for a darkroom course, or studio lighting equipment knowledge for a lighting course.

Being a TA is an experience I would recommend to any alumni because you can be part of classes you may not have been able to take during your time there. ICP is like a photo family, and everyone is passionate about photography and art. There are great connections and opportunities for networking, developing friendships, and meeting new people. For me it has been very rewarding.

I started as a TA in the fall of 2021 for a weekend workshop class. I became a TA as a way to give back to the students that are currently at ICP. I had wonderful TA's when I studied there and it really made my time at ICP so special.

My favorite part is that I’m part of a community of highly talented and inspirational creatives.
