Anna Fárová was a Czech art historian, photography historian, curator, and writer whose scholarship played a fundamental role in establishing photography as a respected field of academic study and museum practice in Central Europe. Widely regarded as one of the most influential historians of photography in the twentieth century, Fárová dedicated her career to documenting, preserving, and promoting the work of Czech photographers while fostering international recognition of photography as an artistic medium. Through her exhibitions, publications, and curatorial work, she significantly expanded the historical understanding of modern photography and helped introduce Czech photographic traditions to a global audience.
