Horst P. Horst (1906–1999), born Horst Paul Albert Bohrmann in Weißenfels, Germany, was one of the most influential fashion and portrait photographers of the twentieth century. Renowned for his masterful use of light, classical composition, and sculptural approach to the human figure, Horst transformed fashion photography into a sophisticated artistic practice. By 1996, his work had shaped the visual identity of publications such as Vogue for more than six decades and had established him as a central figure in the history of photography.
