Student ID Policy

Your ICP student ID card is required for entry to ICP’s facilities and must be presented upon request. You must swipe your ICP student ID every time you enter and exit the school. This is to ensure that if any emergency occurs, ICP can account for who is present in the building.  

ICP student ID cards are issued only once and are reused for future terms. If your card is lost, you will be charged a $15 replacement fee. Please visit the Replacement ID Card page to request a new card.

Open Education ICP student IDs expire on the 15th of the month that is four months after your class start month. For example, if your class begins in September of 2027, your ID will expire on January 15, 2028.

Open Education ICP student IDs are only issued to onsite Open Education students enrolled in courses lasting longer than 1 day.  

Lab Hour Cards

Lab hour cards are provided to Open Education students enrolled in eligible lab courses as a benefit to practice and complete coursework outside of scheduled class time. Cards are redeemable for hours in the ICP School darkrooms and/or digital media labs, which we call the Photo Lab. To use the Photo Lab facilities, students must be enrolled in a course at ICP. All lab access is subject to facility capacity, equipment availability, ICP School holidays, and operational schedules. Open Education students are encouraged to plan and reserve time in advance, as space within School facilities cannot be guaranteed on a walk-in basis. Early reservations are especially recommended through the Web Checkout portal during periods of high demand throughout the term.

Expiration dates on lab hour cards cannot be extended. The cards are non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be reissued.

If your onsite course does not include a lab hour card, the Photo Lab facilities can be rented by current-term onsite students with a valid student ID. There is a $15 per hour fee.
